The eligibility criteria is fairly simple. Students who checks all of the following can apply for class 10th NIOS admission.

  • Failed in class 7th, 8th or 9th from regular schooling OR dropouts from these classes.
  • Minimum age 14 years at the time of admission.

Students applying for Class 10th admission in Open school can choose the subjects with following guidelines.

  • Every Student must select five (5) with at least one (1) language or at most of two (2) languages.
  • Minimum number of subjects a student can choose from both the groups is five (5). Students can take two (2) additional subjects from any of the two groups.
  • So in essence, every student must apply for a minimum of five (5) subjects and a maximum of seven (7) subjects.
  • The students are advised to select subjects based on their future plans. Hence we consult students to make the right choices as this is critical for your future.

Subject Choices for Class 10th NIOS

Subjects with * have theory as well as practical works.
Subjects marked with # – In the Certificate, mention of “Indian Knowledge Tradition” will be made on successful completion of above four subjects along with Sanskrit Language. These subjects are available in Sanskrit medium only

Following documents are required by the NIOS at the time of admission.

  • (I) Attested copy of birth certificate issued by the municipal authority or district office of the registrar of birth and deaths. Name of the child, father and mother’s should be clearly written on the certificate. OR
  • (II)Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate showing applicant’s Date Of Birth, issued by the last school attended. In case of Govt. schools, the Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate should be signed by the Principal. While in the case of private schools, it should also be countersigned by the competent education authority of state/ or district education officer.
  • Proof of residence. You can bring any of the following:
    • Aadhaar Card of the student,
    • Ration card,
    • Voter Id card of the patents
    • Water/Telephone/Electricity bill/ Bank statement of any active account
    • Parents Passport In Case Of Minor
  • Coloured passport size photographs

NIOS Fee for Stream 1 will be in range of ₹ 2000 – 3000. We charge ₹1200 for our consultation, form filling, practical assistance, regular updates till the exams.
